[Art] Bucket List
September 25, 2011 in Art Blog, Art Practice
Dear GalleryArtists:
The desire to make a vision or a project a reality, may it be humble or grandiose, is the kind of stuff that takes you to places- interesting places, and can transform you from a dreamer to an accomplished (insert here an appropriate noun).
Have you put some time into this type of goal-setting? Do I need to remind you that time is of the essence here?
I was looking at a website, and wouldn’t you know it, there is a website for making bucket lists with a check off list of things accomplished, -maybe I’ll put in my bucket list to make a bucket list at this site and make sure I check them off… (agh.. what was I saying?).
Ever since I can remember, I knew I was going to be an artist. It didn’t occur to me that I could fail at it, I just went about my life thinking of ways to make it happen, step by step. Along the way I realized I needed to be more focused and make goals so that my efforts went into the general direction that I wanted. This is goal setting 101 for any self employed artist.
In my buket list, besides the predictable, travel the world and a more focused list item, participate in international artfairs and visit them in person, I also write, to have a prosperous art career and in the achieved column I write: in progress.
So what is your art-bucket list?
